Bristol Fashion Week

Yesterday I attended Bristol Fashion Week at Cribbs Causeway, here’s how it went. 12986533_1144469222254250_34716569_o

Yesterday I was lucky enough to be invited to the Bristol Fashion Week event held at Cribbs Causeway. As you know I am obsessed with all things fashion and beauty related so I couldn’t wait for this day to arrive, and seen as I live in Cardiff I treated this as a mini getaway in one of my favourite cities.

After getting our bloggers passes, which made my friend and I feel like VIP’s, we headed towards the purpose built catwalk arena just outside of the mall. As we waited to be seated for the show we were treated to cute lemonade refreshments courtesy of M&S and delicious strawberry and cream donuts thanks to Krispy Kreme. In fact the waiting area was a spectacle in itself, designed to replicate a British summer Garden Party, complete with green grass carpet, bunting, picnic food and beautiful fashions from John Lewis and M&S on display.

Once the doors opened into the catwalk area my friend and I managed to get perfect seats with a perfect view just three rows from the front. I was grateful to find stylish goodie bags on our chairs bursting with gifts for us, including a no.7 mascara, Perfectil skin, hair and nail vitamins, and Ladival sun cream to name a few.

The actual fashion show itself was an ode to the Great British Summer with fashion inspiration coming from Wimbledon, The Great British Bake Off and The Polo to name a few.  The show cleverly showed off the best The Mall at Cribbs Causeway has to offer which made me want to head straight to the shops as soon as the show was over.

Some of my favourite outfits from the show were inspired by Royal Ascot. I am a massive lover of monochrome and every outfit in this section was oozing with black and white brilliance. My favourite outfit overall was this monochrome striped midi dress, which is now a serious contender to be my graduation dress, teamed with this oversized fascinator and daring sunglasses.

Not only were the outfits and the models wearing them great, the fashion show was also hosted by Denise Van Outen and Mark Hayes who were hugely entertaining throughout and also gave great fashion advice which will defiantly stick with me.

Overall, if I had to choose a favourite part of the show I’d have to pick the real model make-over, where a lovely new mother had been chosen to get her sparkle back. The women was beautiful already but shone when her make-over was revealed. Mark Hayes had personally styled her himself and chose to deck her out in head to toe Coast which made her look a million dollars.

Bristol Fashion Week was so much fun and I would defiantly recommend it to fashionistas of all ages. I know I will certainly be heading to their next event.
